Kirsten Vogelsang graduated from Yale University with a Master of Music in Composition. Her undergraduate degree is in cello performance from Mannes College of Music in NYC. Now part of the New School of Social Research.

Upon graduationg she moved to NYC where she collaborated with choreographers and dance companies. In 1989 she attended the Sundance Workshop for film composers which propelled her move to LA where she worked in the film and tv industry for 30 years.
